Eastman Cooke Construction CEO Peter Morandi is the recipient of the Boy Scouts of America’s (BSA’s) 2016 Distinguished Citizen Award.
Morandi, along with fellow winner Nayan Parikh, Founder and President, Ashnu International, was honored at a September 28th awards ceremony at the Maritime Parc in Jersey City, New Jersey. The event recognizes the contributions of individuals dedicated to enhancing the BSA’s STEM initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), enabling Scouts to gain new skills and experience to prepare them for the workforce.
The prestigious award is particularly meaningful to Morandi, a former Boy Scout who credits the organization for instilling many of the values he exhibits today, including hard work, perseverance and exemplary leadership. He often attends BSA fundraisers to show his support and give back to the organization that helped pave the way early for his successful career in construction.
“I’m thrilled and honored to be recognized by the BSA,” Morandi said. “With a deep history and commitment to shaping the future of America’s youth, the BSA has played an important role in many lives, including my own. I’m proud to support the STEM initiative and vital skill building that helps to educate and inspire the young leaders of tomorrow.”
