Our renovation of a prestigious and well-known Times Square Hotel is substantially complete, with a beautiful new exterior entrance, a spectacular new lobby, and a resurfaced Shubert Alley, among other updates.
This project required continuous logistical balancing due to the hotel’s location in Times Square. With 26 million people moving through the area each year, our team took a five-phase approach that included round-the-clock work to ensure the hotel remained open with minimal disruption to staff or guests. Our superintendent and his assistants worked tirelessly, alternating day and night shifts as well as double shifts when the schedule was at critical points. Their dedication to this project was noticed by all.
The east wall of the hotel’s main entrance is spectacular. The architect’s use of stretch graphics, aluminum panels and stone work created a refreshing new look for arriving guests, while the new security booth blends seamlessly with the design so as not be diminish the beauty of the entrance. New signage in the hotel lobby has made guest movement noticeably smoother.
The Hotel staff and management, as well as the owner’s representative, were a pleasure to work with and were always willing to help achieve our common goal of advancing the schedule. And finally, not to be understated, the design team was key to the success of this project. They made themselves available whenever needed to solve unforeseen constructability issues and were always open to alternative solutions while maintaining design intent.
